Connie was the eldest of four children born to Graham and Inez Brimhall. Her parents moved to Covert when Connie was in third grade. She is a joiner, and starting with Girl Scouts in fifth grade she was active on the Police Board, Cheerleading squad, student council and served as head librarian, Class Officer, and Valedictorian of the class 1951.

She married Duane Castor August 12, 1951. They spent much of their lives as volunteers. Duane passed away in 1996 and was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999. Connie worked in all branches of the Van Buren State Bank. She served as teller, assistant comptroller, supervisor of the Covert Branch and assistant manager of the Hartford Branch. She retired in 1996. In 1996 she was elected Covert Township Clerk and served until she retired in November 2000. She has held many volunteer positions including PTA President, 4-H Club leader, School Board member, Sunday School superintendent, church treasurer, chairman of the Church Board of Directors, Girl Scout and Brownie leader. She has been on and off the Alumni Committee Board since its inception in 1955, serving as secretary, treasurer and trustee. Connie is a member of the Rev. A.E. Grice Scholarship Fund Board of Directors. She has worked many years with the Van Buren County Youth Fair and continues to work each year. Connie Castor's hobbies are square dancing, sewing, knitting and cooking. She helped organize the Square Dance Club and is still active in it.

Connie and Duane are parents of three daughters, Colleen, Lauren and Christine and 13 grand children. Connie epitomizes the phrase "If you want a job done, give it to a busy person." Connie Brimhall Castor is that person.
