Linda Boston was born in Chicago, Illinois to Pearline and James Dan Boston. She began singing and performing in school plays and choirs at the early age of six. The Boston family moved to Covert when Linda was in the 9th grade. She graduated from Covert High School in 1972. Linda graduated from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Broadcasting.

Linda began her career in radio as a news anchor and programming assistant in Benton Harbor, Michigan and later landed a position at WJR Radio in Detroit, where she worked as Commercial Continuity/Broadcast Law Director and primary female production voice-over talent.

Linda Boston is heralded as the "Great Voices of the Great Lakes", as well as a recipient of the "Spirit of Detroit" award and PM Magazine winner for "Best Jingle". She has received numerous awards including recognition from the Detroit Free Press for the one-woman show "Moms Mabley: The Naked Truth" and also her portrayal of Ella Fitzgerald in "How High the Moon: Sarah, Ella and Pop". After serving two years a principal performer for the Detroit Gem/Century Theater production, Linda currently serves as a national principal (POWER WOMAN) in the internationally acclaimed production of "Menopause the Musical". She has also performed as opening soloist for the 2006 Detroit Mayoral Inauguration at the Fox Theater and as opening soloist for the 52nd Annual NAACP Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner in 2007.

Linda decided to take a serious approach to acting and began professional training. She participated in numerous workshops and garnered acclaim for regional performances with the Detroit Concert Choir, and Actors Alliance Tour ing Conservatory. She has performed in feature films such as "Crossover 2006", "Ahead of the Game", and "MVP" (aka "Most Valuable Playaz"). Linda has a very talented daughter, Azza Gilbert.
