Lanell S. Gray, the older of two sons born to Kenneth and Selana Gray, is a 1993 graduate of Covert High School, a member of the National Honor Society and the Class of 1993 Valedictorian. Following graduation, Lanell attended Michigan State University, where he received an Engineering Arts Degree with a Cognate in Manufacturing Management.

General Electnc saw the abilities of this young man and Lanell was hired into their Aircraft Engine Division. There he worked to manufacture the DFM 56 engine and successfully improved the Gage Tracking System. He is currently employed with Ford Motor Corporation, where he is team leader of the design team, and can proudly be credited for the design of the 2005 Ford 500.

In his community, Lanell volunteers his time by serving on the board of a non profit organization called "Positive Living", which raises monies to assist men and women suffering with drug and alcohol abuse.

In the relatively short time since leaving Covert, Lanell has made great accomplishments by sharing his limitless gifts with others. His lack of fear or failure has contributed greatly to his accomplishments.
